Steve Pateman, Executive Director, Corporate & Commercial Banking and Head of UK Banking
Steve Pateman was appointed as an Executive Director on 1 June 2011 and is responsible for Corporate and Commercial Banking.
On 6 March 2012 Steve was appointed Head of UK Banking, with responsibility for Retail Distribution & Intermediaries and Products & Marketing, in addition to his existing responsibilities.
Steve joined Santander in June 2008 as Head of UK Corporate and Commercial Banking and an Executive Committee member. In addition to his responsibility for Corporate and Commercial banking, Steve is also responsible for Business Banking, underlining the importance Santander places on this sector.
Previously with NatWest and RBS where he was CEO of Business Banking, Managing Director, Commercial Banking and Managing Director, Corporate Banking, he has experience of running businesses with P&Ls in excess of £1.0bn with over 5,000 staff. Steve has also worked on a variety of financings, restructurings, capital market and equity issues during his time in NatWest Markets where he specialised in the leisure and retail sectors.
