36,000 available in Money for Nothing prize draw

Prize draw registration starts on 24 August 2009

Abbey Student Accounts is giving away £50 an hour, on the hour, every day for the whole of September, in the ‘Money for Nothing' prize draw which is available to both customers and non-customers. This £50 prize mirrors the £50 cash bonus that new Abbey Student Account holders get when they open a Student account.

The prize-draw is being run through Abbey's Student Account fan page on Facebook, www.facebook.com/abbeystudents, and registration for the free £50 prize draw starts on Monday 24 August.

In addition to a £50 cash bonus, the Abbey Student Account also offers:

Gillian Almond, Head of Abbey Current Accounts said: "We know that money is pretty hard to come by when you are a student, which is why we provide £50 in cash and a very good in-credit interest rate on our Student Account. There is also an interest free overdraft to help with initial outgoings, or unexpected living costs.

"This free prize draw is a great opportunity for students and others to get some extra and unexpected money into their back pocket, and highlight the great value Abbey Student Account, at a time when money tends to be tight."

2. Entry to the prize draws is only possible via the Abbey Student Facebook application. Entrants must be registered with Facebook.

3. Only one entry registration per person is permitted. Entries will be accepted into the prize draws from 12pm on 24th August 2009. Entries into the final prize draw will be closed at 11.59pm on 30th September 2009. The date and time of entry registration will be automatically recorded.

7. Entrants are eligible to win more than one prize draw. Prize-winners will be chosen at random.

8. Winners will be notified by email on or after 5th October 2009. The names of winners will be published on the Abbey Student Facebook fan page ‘Wall'.
