Brainwave secures £5,000 donation to fund special needs assessments

Fifty children who have developmental needs are to benefit from tailored educational programmes after a local charity secured £5,000 from the Santander Foundation to fund assessments with a special needs teacher.
Brainwave, based in Bridgwater, seeks to enable children who have suffered a brain injury, have a genetic condition or development delay, to realise their full potential through cognitive development. The donation will enable 50 children and their families to have one-to-one sessions with a special needs teacher who will use play and sensory inputs to determine the underlying cause of a child's behaviour and their special needs.
David Davies, Trust Manager at Brainwave said: "Brainwave is delighted that the Santander Foundation has made this most generous donation which will help children with special needs and their families bring about real change."
Anoushka Brown, Communications Manager at Santander said: "We are always on the look out for good causes that need help. The support and services provided by Brainwave are second to none and with the addition of these specialised sessions many more children and their will families benefit."
